Peggy Papay showed an early aptitude for artistic creativity. As a child, when other kids were at sports practice and playtime, Peggy spent her Saturdays learning sculpture and painting at the local art museum. This creative interest held, and as Peggy reached adulthood, she attended The Cleveland Institute of Art, graduating with a BFA from Bowling Green State University. In addition, she worked as a commercial illustrator and taught painting at the Toledo Museum of Art.
After co-owning and building a Tradeshow exhibit company in the 1990’s, Peggy went on to study ceramics at Hood College in Maryland. In 2006, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she built her studio and kiln in the picturesque Sonoran Desert. She receives much inspiration right where she works, from the natural beauty around her. Javelinas, hummingbirds, bobcats and roadrunners keep her company, as well as her husband, Mike.
